Vision changes perception
With the suffering economy driving an increase in crime across the Province, the Solicitor General’s Crime Prevention Unit saw the need to re-invent its communications inventory. A new approach was called for in the interest of creating safer communities. Vision Creative took a tack that replaced isolation with involvement. Instead of being encouraged to put up barriers for protection, a campaign was developed that talked positively of the strength in numbers and in neighbourhood response, awareness and co-operation. Fresh and compelling materials invited personal action, encouraged dialogue and drew audiences to a new and more involving website. In the third year of a five-year plan the response to date has been overwhelmingly positive.
